This summer, The Light is partaking in the Government's Great British Summer Savings scheme.

Great British Summer Savings is a temporary Government initiative running from 25 June to 1 September 2026. During this period, VAT on eligible children’s activities, food and drink is reduced from 20% to 5%, allowing us to pass the saving on to families through lower prices.

What is Great British Summer Savings?

What discounts are available at The Light? 

During the promotional period, discounts are available on eligible children's cinema tickets, family cinema tickets, selected children's food and drink items, and soft play at The Light Banbury. 

Will all activities at The Light be discounted? 

No. Not all activities are included in the scheme. Soft play at The Light Banbury is included, but other leisure activities are excluded. 

Does the discount apply to all food and drink? 

No. Discounts apply only to qualifying children's food and drink items. Adult food and drink items are excluded. 

Does every item purchased for a child qualify? 

No. The discount applies only to specific children's food and drink products. Purchasing an adult item for a child does not make that item eligible for a discount. 

What age counts as a child? 

Child ticket eligibility varies by activity. Please refer to the relevant ticket or product information when booking. 

If I book now for September, will I still receive the discount? 

The discount is based on the date of your visit, not the date you make your booking. Visits taking place between 25 June and 1 September 2026 are eligible. 

Are Great British Summer Savings discounts already included in the prices shown? 

Eligible discounts are applied automatically during online checkout. For purchases made in venue, any applicable discount will be reflected at the point of purchase. 

Are family cinema tickets included? 

Yes. Eligible family cinema tickets are included within the scheme and discounted prices will be applied automatically. 

Does the offer apply after 1 September? 

No. The Great British Summer Savings scheme is temporary and ends on 1 September 2026. 

Can this offer be used with other promotions? 

Unless stated otherwise, Great British Summer Savings discounts cannot be exchanged for cash and may not be combined with selected promotional offers.
